Trucking Company Reaps Benefits Of New Dispatch Solution

In an effort to comply with safety regulations and free its staff of paperwork, trucking company Direct Drive Express (DDEX) decided a year ago to replace its outdated dispatch software. According to Dudley Larson, DDEX VP and CFO, the 15-yearold software had none of the functions modern trucking requires, such as computerized safety inspections, onboard electronics, and satellite navigation and routing.
The old software was essentially a database containing customer names and order lists, but aside from that, the business was run on paper. "We needed something that would set us apart, to show our customers we can do something that's superior to the other guys on the block," Larson says.
