Ambulance Crews to Use Durabook U12Ci for Patient Data Input

GammaTech Computer Corp., a major international manufacturer and supplier of innovative notebook and tablet computers, has been chosen by ZAP Emergency Medical Services, a Texas-based ambulance services company, to supply their crews with rugged notebooks. By the end of 2013, the entire ZAP ambulance fleet will be equipped with GammaTech Durabook U12Ci rugged convertible notebooks to assist in patient data entry.

“We are replacing our existing computers with the GammaTech U12Ci convertible notebook for several reasons,” said Ricardo Gomez, EMS Manager of ZAP Emergency Medical Services. “In addition to improvements in weight, ruggedness and speed, the U12Ci is the best value when comparing features to price. GammaTech’s no fault warranty and attentive customer service were other reasons we chose the U12Ci over competitors’ products.”

The Durabook U12Ci features a 12.1” resistive touch panel that can easily be converted from notebook to tablet based on user preference. Built to Military Standard 810G, the U12Ci is resistant to drop, shock, spill and dust all while remaining slim and lightweight with a built-in carrying handle. With long battery life, security features and more, the U12Ci offers Ultrabook performance in an affordable yet rugged platform.

“We are excited to expand our list of customers nationwide who use Durabook rugged computers for their ambulance fleets,” said Jen Chen, GammaTech president. “Crews deserve the latest technology to provide the best patient care, and we are proud to deliver ZAP with a secure and reliable computing solution that can stand up to tough conditions.”
