Real-World Examples Of IoT-Powered Field Service

While the Internet of Things (IoT) has gained in popularity, connecting equipment, assets, or products, and using that information to improve service isn’t new.
We’re not talking about the future. We’re talking about what’s happening now.
Whether alarm filtering, predicting equipment failure, user experience, or continuous improvement, there are already real-world examples of IoT-powered field service where the rubber meets the road.
Real-World Example #1 – Alarm Filtering
For many grocery chains, refrigeration cases and HVAC equipment are considered to be critical, and are closely monitored. So Verisae worked on an initiative with United Supermarkets for managing alarms.
For United Supermarkets, there are 120,000+ raw alarms generated across the enterprise every month. This information about alarms is important and necessary for long-term pattern analysis, root cause analysis, and verification purposes after the work has been completed. But realistically, who can manage 120,000+ alarms? Instead, we created key processes to help reduce the noise.
