CHANDLER, AZ (PRWEB) - Group Mobile, well known for carrying the top brands in rugged laptops, rugged tablet PCs, rugged smartphones, and rugged handheld computers has extended its product offerings to include the new Trimble Nomad 1050 Series. The Nomad 1050 handheld makes it easy to collect, maintain, save and transmit data in the field.

"We expect the Nomad 1050 to be very popular among our mobile workers in industries that require work to be done outdoors and in other challenging work environments," said Stephanie Kreitner, Executive Vice President of Group Mobile. "The Trimble product line is extremely popular among our customer base because of Trimble's excellent reputation in the rugged handheld space."

The Trimble Nomad 1050 packs functionality into one of the most powerful and full-featured rugged handheld computers available. In addition, the Nomad is a fully rugged handheld computer and meets demanding MIL-STD-810G military standards for drops, vibration, humidity, altitude, and temperature extremes. It also comes with an IP68 rating making it completely sealed against dust, and able to survive immersion in up to a meter of water for 240 minutes.

The Nomad 1050 is powered by an ultra-fast 1.0GHz processor. It comes standard with 512MB RAM, 8GB onboard non-volatile NAND Flash storage, and a long-life, hot-swappable battery that can work all day without being recharged. The Trimble Nomad features optional configurations that include WWAN and Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity. In addition, the Nomad provides an optional integrated 1D/2D barcode imager with built-in capability to recognize and sort dozens of barcodes at once for efficient asset tracking. Other options include a 5MP digital camera with flash and geotag-enabled software to capture high resolution color images in the field with their precise locations stored and an integrated GPS receiver for mapping and navigation applications. The Trimble Nomad 1050 also boasts an advanced Trimble GPS antenna design which reads the full constellation of satellite signals plus SBAS.
