An Employee Focused Driver Safety Solution

“Our goal is to have our drivers get home safe and sound, the same way they arrived” – Red Hawk’s Fleet Manager

Red Hawk Fire & Security specializes in the design, installation, integration, monitoring and onsite servicing of fire and security life safety solutions. Their teams of industry veterans provide knowledge and expertise to more than 50,000 companies and institutions nationwide.

Accident rates have been rising drastically every year due, in part, to an increase in distracted drivers on the roads. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), distracted driving is classified as “any activity that diverts a person’s attention away from the primary task of driving” – in other words, not just texting. After experiencing these increased accident rates first hand, Red Hawk Fire & Security knew they needed to take action and focus on creating a safer situation for their technicians as they travel between job sites and those sharing the road with them.

After leaving their previous telematics provider, Red Hawk sought out to find a solution that would not only track and report drivers’ on-road activities, but provide proactive and corrective action to reduce the number accidents and their liability costs. In 2014, Red Hawk reached out to ARI and began to work on a comprehensive safety policy that would reinforce good driving behaviors by assigning training modules to their drivers. One year later, after enforcing a strong fleet policy and implementing continual driver monitoring controls, Red Hawk saw a measurable decline in accident rates from 2015 to 2016.
